International swimming race dedicated to Lord Byron, the famous English poet who, according to the legend swam across the Gulf of La Spezia, from Porto Venere to San Terenzo to reach his friend the poet P. B. Shelley.

The race has now reached its 35th edition, once reserved to a few daredevils, it counts today over 250 contestants every year. This unique setting in the world attracts swimmers from every country for a competition undoubtedly challenging: the crossing covers a distance of 7.5 Km with stretches in the open sea and is often subject to the winds for a period of about an hour and a half.
